A MANATEE AND BIRD WATCHING PARADISE !

scan0002.jpg (245070 bytes)

Enjoy a panoramic waterfront view of Matlacha Bay, sunrise and sunsets, shrimp boats, river otters, tropical birds soar (ospreys, diving pelicans, bald eagles, woodstorks, kingfishers, snowy egrets, magnificent frigate birds,  burrowing owls, little blue herons, black crown night  herons, white pelicans, flocks of ibis, roseate spoonbills, etc.) while the playful Dolphins and Manatee frolic in the bay, all from your porch!

We are located in Matlacha, Pine Island Florida where the Calusa Indians 1st settled, then we became a fishing village, wintered by circus show folks, now a quaint place including working artists galleries, gift shops, all Mom an Pop restaurants, fresh local seafood and such, yes a small village but very nice, almost no beaches except 2 small local beaches as we are mainly a wild life sanctuary for Manatee/Dolphins/Birds and such, however you can catch a people ferry to Cayo Costa State Park a island in the Gulf of Mexico, GREAT Shelling especially when you catch a low tide but always good shelling and Great Beaches.. or yes hop in the car and drive a short beautiful drive to Sanibel, Captiva, Ft Myers Beach with Gulf beaches.

Aren't these Manatee beautiful ?

Its so thrilling to watch a mother with her babies swim by from your porch as they travel from the Gulf of Mexico into the freshwater canals every morning to sleep and play.  And in the afternoon they go out to the Gulf of Mexico to feed, and yes, they make this trip every day. You can walk out onto the dock to get a real close view of the Manatee (often within a few feet of this rare & endangered species)! There are only approximately 2000 of these gentle creatures left in all of Florida, with 300 to 400 Manatee in and around Pine Island. So, hurry on down to have your own personal experience with a Manatee.
